Jacksonville Jaguars entlassen Tim Tebow

Jacksonville Jaguars had caused a stir in the summer when an ex-quarterback Tim Tebov was committed to a new role as Tight End. This experiment was now finished after the first preseason matchday.

On Tuesday, the Jaguars reported the release of the former round-round pick, Tebov thus does not survive the first wave of squad layoffs.

Teams must cut their squad to 85 players until Tuesday evening, a week later, the reduction to 80 players is due. The final 53-man squad must then be announced on 31 August.

Tebov had received 16 Snaps at the Preseason Start of Jaguars against the Cleveland Browns, but especially with some awkward Run blocks. The 34-year-old Neu-Tight End was obviously too far away with his new position to make a sport of a place to justify a longer whereabouts.

The new Head Coach Urban Meyer had already trained Tebov at College near Florida, when Tebov was one of the best college quarterbacks of all time.

Tebov thanked in a social media post for the opportunity: I never wanted to make decisions for fear of failure, and I am grateful for the chance to pursue a dream. Thank you to the Jaguars and those who on me this journey supported.
