PS Store November Sale: The offers for PS4 & PS5
Scarlet Nexus
The right game for: all who want to have spectacular hack & slash fights.
Not so good for: all who place a lot of value on dialogues and characters in a JRP.
Scarlet Nexus score: 86 points
The action role play Scarlet Nexus, published in the summer for PS4 and PS5, you already get 40 percent cheaper and thus for 41.99 euros instead of 69.99 euros.
Overmen against mutants: Scarlet Nexus plays in an alternative presence in which science has awarded many people superficial forces, but is also responsible for some fearful mutations. We are part of a special unit that protects humanity from dangerous mutants. The story is exciting and the game world is interesting. However, Scarlet Nexus does not make our own decisions, which is why the interpersonal relationships in our team lose some charm.
Spectacular skills: The core of Scarlet Nexus form but the great hack & slash fights anyway. The special thing about it: we always move into battle with a few colleagues and can borrow their forces, such as invisibility or elemental magic. This gives Scarlet Nexus a tactical element in the compilation of the team. Particularly spectacular are also our telekinetic skills through which we even throw whole trains on our enemies.
Conclusion: Despite his well-written story, there is certainly better than Scarlet Nexus in the JRPG genre when it comes to dialogues and interpersonal relationships. A persona 5 offers, for example, much more here. On the other hand, when it comes to the fighting, Scarlet Nexus needs no competition to hide. The cool skills impress not only visually, the combat system also offers enough tactical depth to motivate longer term.
Scarlet Nexus (PS4 & PS5) instead of 69,99 € for € 41.99 in the PlayStation Store
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
The right game for: all who want to have a gloomy and a little quieter Tomb Raider.
Not so good for: all, who expect a third person shooter.
Scarlet Nexus rating: 91 points
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is available in the definitive edition with all extensions for 13.19 euros instead of 39.99 euros. The predecessors Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raiders are also greatly reduced.
Gloomy jungle: After we climbed in Rise of the Tomb Raider by icy mountain landscapes, the successor Lara sends into the deepest jungle. This is beautifully designed thanks to lush plant world and pretty lighting effects. In general, Shadow of the Tomb Raider has evolved significantly compared to its predecessor. At the same time it has become much darker, not only because of some fearsome Undead, but also due to the story.
Newly mixed: Playful Shadow of the Tomb Raider basically offers the same elements as the predecessors, but the mixing ratio is another: sneaking is now much more effective, climbing and other skill exercises take more space (and are partly unparalleled). Moreover, the graves are even more in the foreground and the puzzles are clearly clever. Of course, there are one or the other shootout.
Conclusion: The new focal points in the gameplay are a matter of taste. Those who just liked the Tomb Raider reboot because it has moved great towards a shooter, should be less satisfied. Shadow of the Tomb Raider offers a good mix of the game elements and is back a piece closer to the old parts of the series. In addition, it is very technically very successful.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition instead of 39,99 € for 13,19 €
A plague tale: innocence
The right game for: all who want to make an atmospheric journey through a gloomy version of medieval France.
Not so good for: all who hope for complex gameplay.
Scarlet Nexus rating: 84 points
The Action Adventure A Plague Tale: Innocence is available in November for 11.99 euros instead of 39.99 euros.
On the Flcuht by France: In A Plague Tale: Innocence, we take over the role of the 14-year-old Amicia, which flees with her little brother Hugo before the Inquisition. We cross a medieval France, which is at the same time being hit by a rat plage and a mysterious plague. Both landscapes and the cities and villages are beautifully staged and look authentic, which contributes much to the dense atmosphere of the game.
Only at the beginning defenseless: The gameplay is almost completely reduced to the exploration of the surroundings as well as from sneaking and small puzzles at the beginning. Against the well-armed soldiers of the Inquisition we are as good as a weak children as well as defenseless. With the time, however, Amicia always learns to deal with her stone clamp and Hugo finally develops amazing skills that provide playful variety.
Conclusion: In a playful way, a plague tale is not exactly spectacular, but it has more ideas when you would suspect at first glance, and always ensures new elements. The true strengths are the pretty, authentic-acting game world and the resulting thrilling atmosphere of the Action Adventure. With the good twelve hours, which lasts the most manifest history, A Plague also has the right length exactly the right length.
A Plague Tale: Innocence instead 39,99 € for € 11.99 in the PlayStation Store
Ni no kuni 2: Revenant kingdom
The right game for: all who want to feel like a real king.
Not so good for: all looking for a challenge.
Scarlet Nexus score: 86 points
The JRPG-Hit NO No Kuni 2 is a proud 86 percent reduced and thus only costs 9.79 euros instead of 69.99 euros.
Cute look, adult story: Behind the pretty, colorful anime look of Ni No Kuni 2 hides a comprehensive role-playing game with an epic history around Kunsgier and War. Compared to the story, the degree of difficulty is first rather aspirable. If you know yourself with JRPGs, you should hardly have problems in the first half of the game. He later come fight against strong opponents who demand our skills.
A real king: Ni No Kuni 2 is more than a role-playing game where we fall into battles with our party. After all, we play a king, which of course also make strategic decisions and manage his empire. So we move troops and beat battles. Although the strategic part is not too demanding, but he is extensive enough to give us the feeling of actually slipping into the role of a king.
Conclusion: For experienced JRPG fans looking for a challenge, NI No Kuni 2 is certainly not the right thing. For them, it takes much too long until the degree of difficulty attracts. If, on the other hand, if you are looking for a role-playing game with Epic Story or just feel like hatching in the skin of a king, is right here. The role of a ruler we could rarely play as convincing as here.
