We thought that Rockstar Games had already been completely forgotten about the Max Payne franchise, but fortunately, this was not entirely true. The above we say it because Remedy Entertainment, authors of Control and Alan Wake, have allied with this study to develop Remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2, titles that came to the market in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
This news was confirmed through a publication in the official blog of remedy , where they mention that these two titles will be recreating using their own engine known as NorthLight Engine, which will also be used by Alan Wake two. At the moment, it has been confirmed that these two games will arrive exclusively at PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC , so the past generation of consoles has been forgotten.
According to the publication, remedy will be entirely responsible for its development, while Rockstar will be responsible for financing the project, which “will follow the same line as a typical AAA production of Remedy.” Sadly, no more details were given about it as your launch window, so we will have to wait a while longer to have this information.
Editor’s note: The news was certainly surprising, and it will be interesting to know what Remedy will do with these two titles. In one of those, Rockstar is encouraged to launch Max Payne 4, although it would be preferable that they better focus for now on GTA 6.
