It has been a few months sincebisoft has officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for the first time. A bit has been learned from this revelation, including confirmation of setting, pre-order bonuses and the ability to play as a male or female eivor. Skepticism of some fans, Ubisoft says that the two versions of Eivor are Canon. The first cinematographic trailer was of course engaging in a version of Eivor, which ended up being a man. Today, Ubisoft has published a version of the trailer where Eivor is a woman.
Nothing in this new trailer is so different from the original. Eivor does not have a beard, she has a woman’s voice and she’s always a bulky viking. Ubisoft says this trailer is the “official soundtrack” version with a remixed theme song, but it really seems that they wanted to get out FEM-Eivor. If you paid attention to Ubisoft in recent months, you maybe know they face numerous accusations of misconduct internally. Some say it has affected their games so as to minimize the role of women, especially in the Assassin’s Creed games. According to some information, Eivor would be exclusively a woman, but the leaders blocked this notion.
This information makes me wonder if this trailer we see today was the original. Who knows? Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released on November 17 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date.
